In 2020, we affiliated as a member publisher with ONE LICENSE. All titles, including individual psalms from The Ionian Psalter, are listed in the ONE LICENSE database. Churches with an active ONE LICENSE account must report all usage for Ionian Arts works used in worship, or worship livestreams or podcasts. For The Ionian Psalter, reprint permissions apply to bulletin inserts and congregational antiphons only.
It is our quest to provide a variety of quality resources to meet the needs of church musicians in the form of music, recordings, graphics, and reference materials. We have taken for our namesake the Ionians of ancient history who developed a successful means of navigation by which they became the first to traverse the Mediterranean from western Greece to Italy. From the connection of these two great cultures, the beginnings of Western Civilization evolved.
The directors and officers of Ionian Arts are themselves actively engaged in church music. It is from this pool of experience that two fundamental policies have been established:
- That music we publish be excellently crafted and offer something of value to the spiritual life of the greater Christian community; and
- That the texts of our publications be theologically acceptable and genuinely meritorious from a literary standpoint.
With these as basic precepts, we have attempted to publish works where we perceive there is the greatest need. We welcome your comments and suggestions on our publications. Our choral catalog is not large but we believe every piece to be a “gem.”
