Description

Although Wash me through and through was conceived for performance by a unison choir (in procession) and an SATB mixed choir (in a fixed place), the mixed choir may sing both parts. The tolling of the (optional) handbell not only adds to the penitential cast of the work, but also helps to maintain the pitch. In order to accommodate processions of varying lengths, this processional has been divided into three parts, each ending with a choral refrain. You may select those sections which fit the specific liturgical action.
