Description
This score comes with two versions: one for men’s voices unaccompanied, the other for mixed (SATB div.) voices unaccompanied. Three unison or solo verses are followed by a choral refrain. Although the printed version lists the men’s voice version as Setting II, it was actually composed first and performed on Christmas Eve 1953.
I saw a fair maiden sitten and sing
She lulled a little child, a sweete Lording.

Lullay my liking, my dear son, my sweeting;
Lullay my dear heart, mine own dear darling!
That eternal Lord is he that made alle thing;
Of alle lordes he is Lord, of alle kinges King. Refrain
